Tasting Notes

Named after the world-renowned region of Tuscany, this popular Chianti consists of Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes, grown on hills that date back to the Pliocene era.
Ruby red in color with violet hues, it has an aromatic profile of medium intensity, with notes of violet and cherry. Flavor is austere, full-bodied and slightly tannic. Vivacious persistence and pleasant spicy taste in the mouth. This everyday wine is exceptionally fresh, so pairs perfectly with appetizers, perfect with red meats, with first courses based on meat sauce and savory appetizers based on aged cheeses and fresh cold cuts.

Chianti

Region of Origin

The Chianti Classico region is one of the world's most historically significant wine regions. Officially established by decree in 1716 under Cosimo III, Grand Duke of Tuscany, this area includes the townships of Castellina, Radda, and Gaiole, located just north of Siena. Renowned for its exceptional wine production, Chianti Classico is recognized for its high-quality reds, which embody the rich tradition and unique terroir of Tuscany.

The Grapes

The Chianti blend is a classic, long-established blend of wine grapes used in the wines of Tuscany, most obviously those from Chianti. The blend’s primary constituent is Tuscany’s favorite grape variety, Sangiovese. This is accompanied by small quantities of lesser-known Tuscan grape varieties Canaiolo, Colorino, Ciliegiolo
and Mammolo.
